The webinar will end with a Q&A session and will last up to one hour.
The energy transition and the electrification are the key trends that will shape the global industrial ecosystems in the coming decades, increasing the demand for critical raw materials and precious metals. At the same time, growing consumption of electronic waste and other metal-bearing materials will generate substantial amount of waste in the coming decade (electronic waste is expected to reach 82 Mt in 2030). These streams of waste contain valuable and strategic metals that can be recovered and reintroduced into the supply chain. Their variable composition, however, requires flexible and efficient recycling solutions. NEXTCHEM’s technology addresses this challenge through an integrated pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical process. The core of the technology is a Top Blown Rotary Converter (TBRC), where valuable metals are concentrated into a copper-rich phase while limiting losses to slag. The resulting intermediate, commonly referred to as black copper, is subsequently refined to recover high-purity copper, gold, silver, palladium, platinum, and other platinum group metals. Leveraging proprietary know-how, broad feedstock flexibility, and scalable TBRC configurations, NEXTCHEM's technology provides an integrated solution for recovering value from complex secondary resources, enabling the efficient recovery of critical raw materials and precious metals while supporting urban mining and circular economy objectives.
